Are tiktok stories worth it or nah?

I’ve been using tiktok stories lately, and I’m torn. They’re fun, but do they actually help with growth or nah? I noticed they’re great for casual updates and keeping my audience engaged between posts, but the reach doesn’t seem as wide as regular videos man. Have you had success with them? Or are they just another feature that doesn’t get much traction? Let’s hear your thoughts!

All these subs banning links to Twitter but allowing screenshots is laughably pathetic.

So to all these subreddits having their soapbox moment and banning links to Twitter but still allowing screenshots, you know what you've done? It allows users to generate a fake tweet of whatever the hell they want, cap it, upload it, with absolutely zero burden of proof, because links are banned. Am I surprised? Of course not. You say the words "knee-jerking idiots", the first thing to come to my mind is a reddit moderator.

2024 mlb jersey

Hi everyone, I’m new to collecting and have a few jerseys I want to get signed. With the new jerseys that came out in 2024, I noticed the numbers are made of a kind of plastic print. I’m wondering: 1. Is it safe to get autographs on the plastic numbers, or will the signature fade or smudge over time? 2. Would it be better to have the player sign on the fabric instead? 3. For these types of jerseys, is a Sharpie or a paint pen better for durability and appearance? I’d really appreciate any tips or experiences you all can share. Thanks for the help!

Just received my rose scented bear and it smells nasty, help!

So I'm extremely disappointed, I did my first ever scented bear (I picked the pastel rose swirl bear) as a gift for my mom since she loves flowers and it just arrived and it smells terrible. Like a musty old attic, nothing like roses. Is this something that gets affected by the cold? The package was sitting outside on my porch for a couple hours before I got home from work and it's like 1 degree outside, did something go wrong there? Also if I took it to a store could they replace the scent for me? Worth noting they also messed the stitch up and there's cotton sticking out the back of the bear.

I'm a massive savings nerd. Here are the stupidest money mistakes I see people make.

**1. Overpaying for car insurance** The average American saves a whopping $410+ a YEAR ([source](https://betterbuck.net/content/heres-how-much-youre-actually-overpaying-for-car-insurance/?subid=Auto-Savings-Red-Savings-v2-1224-Source)) when they switch auto insurance carriers - sometimes significantly more than that: I saved $1,300 this year. The reason: some carriers offer discount prices to new customers when they switch. Take 30 seconds and go to a 3rd party comparison site ([Coverage.com](https://betterbuck.net/view-nb.php?offer=bankrate&country=USA&subid=Red-Savings-v2-1224) and [Auto-Savings.com](https://betterbuck.net/view-nb.php?offer=otto&country=USA&subid=Red-Savings-v2-1224) are both fine) to see if you can find cheaper rates. You’ll likely save yourself a bunch of money. Some people suggest switching every 6 months, that's a little bit overkill imo. Once a year should be fine. **2. Overpaying when you shop online** Big stores like Amazon know that no one has time to price shop through dozens of sites, so there’s often no incentive for them to offer bargain prices. I typically hate browser extensions with a fiery passion, but Capital One Shopping has always worked well for me and I'd recommend trying it ([link here](https://betterbuck.net/view-nb.php?offer=capitalone2&country=USA&subid=Red-Savings-v2-1224)). When you shop online (on Amazon or elsewhere) it will automatically compare prices for you, and auto-apply coupon codes when possible. **3. Paying for subscriptions you don't use.** We've all signed up for free trials and forgotten to cancel them. Stop paying for services you aren't using! Take a minute and get yourself a good cancellation app: I like Rocket Money ([link here](https://betterbuck.net/view2.php?offer=rocket-money&country=USA&subid=Red-Savings-v2-1224)). It's an app that will put together a list of your subscriptions so you can pick/choose which ones to cancel. They also have a premium service that will cancel them for you, if you'd like. [Here's a link](https://betterbuck.net/view2.php?offer=rocket-money&country=USA&subid=Red-Savings-v2-1224) (it's free). **4. Dealing with debt on your own** If you’ve got $10k+ in unsecured debt (think credit cards, medical bills, etc), you can ask a debt relief company to come in and negotiate it for you. You typically will save around 23% on average (after their fees). Here’s a link to a savings calculator from National Debt Relief's website if you want to see how much you could save: [link here.](https://betterbuck.net/view-nb.php?offer=ndr2&country=USA&subid=Red-Savings-v2-1224) **5. Not having a financial advisor.** You know why so many rich people have financial advisors? It isn't because they're better at picking stocks (spoiler alert: they're not) It's because a good financial advisor will help you with all of the bizarro tax implications you never would have thought of. People with financial advisors end up making \~3% more/year thanks to better tax planning. If you don't know an advisor personally, use a 3rd party comparison site to find somebody with good reviews ([WiserAdvisor](https://betterbuck.net/view-nb.php?offer=wiser&country=USA&subid=Red-Savings-v2-1224) is solid). **6. Using normal, low-interest savings accounts** I'm always shocked at the number of people still using garbage savings accounts that pay 0.5% (or less) a year. There are literally hundreds of banks that will pay you 8x that, usually 10x that rate [Here's a link to a bunch of options.](https://betterbuck.net/view-nb.php?offer=fiona-savings&country=USA&subid=Red-Savings-v2-1224) **7. Needing cash, but taking out high-interest loans.** So many people take out high-interest payday loans – **please don’t do this**. If you get into trouble you can typically get a relatively low-interest HELOC (a home equity line of credit) Essentially with a HELOC, you’re borrowing against the equity you have in your house and use it for whatever you need (much like a credit card). Typically, you’ll get lower interest rates and more flexible repayment terms compared to traditional loans. Here’s a calculator you can use to see how much/little you could borrow ([link here](https://betterbuck.net/view-nb.php?offer=lt-home&country=USA&subid=Red-Savings-v2-1224)). *Side note: if you hate debt, you can still get money out of your home’s equity by using something like* [*Hometap*](https://betterbuck.net/view-nb.php?offer=hometap&country=USA&subid=Red-Savings-v2-1224)*, where you more or less sell investors a portion of your equity without a loan)* \-- There are tons of other things (obviously) but these are the ones that I see the most. Hope that helps.

U.S. Northern Command Dpty. Test Director says Guns/Rockets NOT an option to take down drones in the US.

Maybe they shouldnt waste money on hundreds of military bases worldwide and funding Israels wars in the middle east, and instead build up domestic defense capabilities. "confusing legal and regulatory hurdles that limit how and when counter-drone systems of any kind can be employed within the homeland, Concerns about risks of collateral damage resulting from the use of anti-drone capabilities factor in heavily, too." “There are kinetic options…. They’re just not here,” They’re not appropriate for the homeland,” Mayes added." Shooting something down with a gun-based system or a surface-to-air missile carries inherent dangers of projectiles or interceptors, or debris from them, falling onto innocent bystanders below. " Then there is the idea that you have to know exactly what you are shooting at, and that can be harder than it sounds when dealing with strange objects in the sky, especially in populated areas where civilian air traffic is dense. Making the call to shoot down an object over the U.S. is an incredibly complex task that never actually occurred until recently." https://www.twz.com/air/lasers-microwaves-missiles-guns-not-on-the-table-for-domestic-drone-defense "Bureaucratic Barriers Hinder Deployment of Counter-Drone Tech Foremost, the U.S. government currently lacks a comprehensive legal framework that would enable a large-scale, widespread deployment of counter-drone technology, at home or abroad" https://www.nationaldefensemagazine.org/articles/2024/12/10/ndia-policy-points-bureaucratic-barriers-hinder-deployment-of-counter-drone-tech "Small, easily weaponizable drones have become a feature of battlefields from the Middle East to Ukraine. nervous to work at a hotel front desk

hi guys I'm coming off of a time where I haven't had a "real" job in years (I did doordash) due to immense anxiety as well as pmdd which took over my life for a while. I'm starting a new job working front desk at a hotel. I just had my first shift today and I'm really overwhelmed. I think I can do this but it's a lot of new information and I'm honestly really scared to be by myself in the hotel during the evening (3-11 shifts.) I know I can do this but I'm still scared. Has anyone else been in a similar place and overcome these feelings?
